2 Carate - Sirena
Today we will have an early wake up, since we need to take our 4X4 all the way to Carate, the place where we will start with our first day of trekking. We need to match our schedule with the tides, since we will be walking mostly on the beach, with huge chances to see Scarlet Macaws and Tapirs. Once we arrive to Sirena we will need to set up our tents, and get ready to prepare dinner. We will also have some spare time to explore the sorroundings. 4 Sirena - San Pedrillo
Today we might need to wake up really - really early (last time was at 1:30 AM to leave at 2 AM), so we need to leave most of our gear ready the night before, to not delay the departure. The reason is because we need to cover 20 km of trekking with all our gear in around 4 hours, because of the tides. First we need to cross the Sirena River, which is right besides the Ranger Station, then do around 10 km to cross the Corcovado River, and after 10 more kilometers cross the Llorona River near Piedra el Arco, all this with low tide. Afterwards we can slow our pace because we will be hiking 5 more km inside a trail in the forest, then 2 km on the beach to finish in San Pedrillo. Since we are starting way early there are big chances that we arrive to San Pedrillo during the morning, so we have the rest of the day to relax at the beach or to hike to the San Pedrillo Waterfall. Set camping and prepare lunch and dinner. Camping in San Pedrillo
Meals: box Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner
Activity: Total distance today: 27 km
5 San Pedrillo - Drake
